Unhappy Phillips TV High pitched noise

Hi,

I know this has prob been asked before but I have a phillips 32 tv, cant tell you the model not a clue... anyway, it makes the most annoying high pitched squeeling sound which is getting worse. Hubby cant hear it, which is flippin annoying. Like I said sorry to duplicate any questions before but any help would be much appreciated.

Read things about service modes - but have not got a clue on how to do this etc...

Hi

Most likely loose windings on the Line Output Transformer.

This does happen over time. The only real fix would be to have a new LOPT fitted. You are probably looking at in excess of £100 though...

More likely the deflection coil. A bit of fire-retardant hot melt on the windings can help damp the vibration and "singing"
