Philips 32" Match Line 100Hz TV - Picture Gone

Yesterday my TV picture started getting blurry around the edges, today there's no picture at all, just sound.

This points to the tube failing, but the TV is just over two years old. Could - or rather given the prestige of this brand, should - it be the circuitry to the tube ? Give that the manual channel and volume panel on top of the machine has also become volatile in whether or not it wants to operate.

Or am I exercising blind faith ?

Had two of these sets for repair with these symptoms and both were tubes.Fitted tubes to both as they are expensive sets.Without further checks i could not be 100% sure.
