Beovsion 3 32

I have just acquired a used beovsion 3 32 with DD .As I cannot afford B & O speakers is it possible to attached passive speakers to the 8 pin Din outlets to obtain surround sound?
are there any problems to be aware of?
would someone recommend suitable speakers

many thanks

just been trying to set up my set top box Ad3000 and note from earlier posts that the Beo4 can be used to operate the stb
is this using a IR cable? is this a specific B & O product or can anyone suggest a cheaper source

to use passive speakers you need an AMP of some sort either B&O passive AMP that connects to the speaker outlets via DIN or a naoraml AMP, if your TV has the STB module installed you need to use an IR emmiteer to a suitable STB. Give your local B&O dealer a call with your serial number and they will tell you what you need and the costs

beoworld i s good place to ask, some deaers are more knowledgable than others try a PM tobrendank a guy in NI who has B&O and you can use the 5.1 module with lots of stuff BLINK passive and passive speakers Beolab actives or a 5channel poweramp (the 5.1 module acts as pre amp) its not as neat as an all B&O system but it works... where in the UK are you?

Ah i meant "brendank" http://www.avforums.com/forums/members/30957.html and west wales is good, i have sent you a PM, basically you can use the DD module to act as preamp and feed a power AMP that can run your speakers Canton CD200 look very similar to B&) 6000's if your interested in keeping "the look" http://canton.de/index.php?pg_id=15,30,cd200 i think the system uses TV speaker for centre so a four channel power amp 4 speakers (2 pairs and a sub if you want one) job done matey

OK had a thought, do you have any other B&O kit VCR/DVD etc? Is it control all from the Beo4 you want?
as for the IR cable B&O supply one with the later 32" Beovision 3 as standard was an option on 28" and early 32" whats your serial number PM me and I'll try and find out if it has an STB controller as standard (you this hardware to control a set top box) but keene should do an IR cable http://www.keene.co.uk/pages/cat/18rem/18F.html but a B&) one isnt much more

at the moment I just have the bv3 but may have the chance to acquire the dvd and video recorder.my initial thought was to get the surround sound working at a reasonable cost. with regard to the IR fortunately I found a spare CCTV IR emmitter and on fiittindg a replacement plug it worked cost £1 for plug
bit of luck many thanks for your efforts looks like a home cin kit or separate amp and speakers still investigating the cost options
has anyone had problems with the dvd playing copied dvd's
Horny dragon many thanks for your efforts

cheers andy

many thanks for your efforts
