Panasonic Screen Went Green With Lines

We where all in front of the tv the other night then all of a sudden the screen went green with lines going in a zig zag across it, then it switched itself off. Can any one help.thanks

I may be wrong,but it sounds exactly the problem we had with our old Toshiba a while ago,and it signalled the end of the tube,with the same symptoms as you've quoted.

yup, sadly ur tv is almost dead
i had a tosh which lasted over 10 yrs then went blue with flyback lines on the screen, soon to be told the tube was dead...

Markcctv,

Probably the green output driver on the c.r.t. base board has failed. This could drive the green too hard so that the set shuts down in protection mode.
Get an engineer to check it out; it may not be expensive.
