I have just bought this set, great value for money.

I have one question regarding the dvb side of the set, when watching some f/w staions the screen flips from 16.9 to 4.3, aparently you can set an option to stop this, does anyone know how to do it ? the man in the shop said you can do this, but there was no remote out with the display model so he couldnt show me.

I have an external f/w box, and I can do this in the menu, and all station stay in 16.9

any help appreciated

Also I have a LG dvd recorder, I cant figure out how to connect this device to the tv, as the tv needs a direct connection to the aerial to get f/wiew from the inbuilt tuner, but the dvd recorder also needs a direct aerial feed to be tuned in so its head sratching time, do i need a Y splitter in the tv to plug bott things into it ? any help

Aerial in to DVDR
RF out to TV.

What you are seeing is what is being broadcast, the TV when it receives a 16x9 widescreen broadcast fills the screen and when a 4x3 programme or ad comes on is displayed in 4x3 correctly.

But the LG hasnt got a f/w tuner in it, so i cant tune it in to the built in f/w signal from the telly, so I am having to have my stand alone f/w box plugged into the tv to record off, and i can watch another chan on the built in one, i thought it would be albe to just connect to the recorder like an external f/w box, but as the both need aerial imputs to be tuned in i cant

i know that mate, but on my stand alone f/w box in the menu i can select the screen format, and it NEVER goes into 4.3 on any chan

I e mailed Daewoo, they said you cant set the screen format, each time the sets turned off it goes back to default setting, seems odd, so b4 going on f/w you basically have to set the screen format to full screen with the zoom button then the f/w screen never changes format.

I am afraid that you cannot do this with our sets. If the channel
automatically flips to 4:3 and you wish to change the aspect ratio then you
have to use the zoom button on the remote control to change it. Each time
you change channel or switch off and back on again it will automatically
default to factory settings.

The Freeview box (F/V not F/w) has RF loopthrough...all DVDRs have so wire it as follows.
Aerial in to F/v box RF in.
F/v box RF out to DVDR RF in
DVDR RF out to TV.

How many scart sockets does your equipment have?

You misunderstand me,

I have a build in f/v tuner in the tv, I cant connect the LG dvd recorder to the tv, and tune f/v into it, via the tvs built in tuner, thats my main aim to be able to have the LG recording from the tvs f/v, not an external one.

The Lg has not got a f/v tuner just anna tuner, I cant get the output of the tvs f/v tuned throught the LG as both have to have an aerial in, or one dont work.

I spend several hours tonight trying to get it working with no luck, the tv has 2 scarts the LG has 2 scarts, and my stand alone f/v has 2 scarts.

Your Daewoo TV outputs its Freeview signals from the AV2 scart.
Connect this to your LG DVDRs AV2 and select this input using the DVDR remote to record...you do not "tune it in".
Connect the RF leads as my previous message.
