1080i, er scanlines....

Hi there, when I watch a 1080i movie on my tft monitor sometimes I get spikes on vertical boundries where the scanlines are... is that due to the software I'm using VLC/MPC or will it be the same on my sony v40 when it arrives (playing via xbox)

Just a bit annoying thats all :/

It's the side effect of interlacing (the i in 1080i). Try get VLC and then turn on the video de-interlacing. Software players don't cope with it too well. Hardware players are fine and you'll never notice it, well I don't with my Showcenter.

I have the snazzio 1350. When viewing a 1080i film, do i set the Snaz to 1080 or 720 which is what my plasma is meant for ?
