JVC DLA-HRM1 IS 30 INCHES DEEP!

Any idea what the best plasma or LCD HDTV is?

I wouldn't mind the 65" Panansonic plasmas

The Fujitsu P50XHA40US. Although it's a panel, not a TV.

Not that I'm biased.

This question is like asking which is the best football team in England.

You will never get an unbiased answer.

Q: What's the best HDTV available?

A: The one I bought last week!

Thanks for everyone who has replied so far, please carry on posting your thoughts everyone paticularly recommendin 32'' -36'' HDTV's.

The guy who said my question was also going to get a baised answer used a weak example to make his point, he asked who were the best football team in england- CARLISLE UNITED, top of league 2 and we are going UP!

SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!
SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!
SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!

Easy. The Brightside DR37-P. But can you afford one?

Hello all

WILS - I believe to be considered an 'HDTV' you really want a 42" or larger Display.

Cyril - you'll get lots of Pros and Cons as far as LCD vs. Plasma; what size of screen are you contemplating?

Best regards

Joe

On what basis? It just needs to be able to produce 720p with a 16:9 aspect ratio. That can come in a much smaller package than 42".

Hello stevekale

As you say lots of screens have enough resolution - my laptops got a 13" screen that's 1024x768; I wouldn't want to watch movies on it from 9' mind

A 32" 16:9 screen is a mighty small screen area - your going to have to sit awfully close to get 'inside' a Movie or Sports event and are you going to really benefit from a higher resolution signa!.

Best regards

Joe

Agreed. But then the average UK living room is rather tiny as well (apart from being poorly lit, horribly decorated and likely damp as well). I'll bet that if you polled the country for the average TV size it would be well below 42" today. The point is that size, as opposed to pixel dimensions, is not part of the HD spec. (Oh and I'd take that Brightside 37in display over ANY 42in display any day.)

:-)

I'm pleased my home is not average

Damp, poorly lit living rooms in the same context as HDTV?

720p? how about 150watt osram and a lick of paint

So does the "HD" part signify "Horribly Damp" or "Horribly Decorated" ?
