resolution advice

When playing 1920*1080i hd material is it better to set the output on graphic card to 1080i or use the the native res for my screen i will be out putting via dvi.

It depends whether the PC or the display scales to the native resolution of your display better, and which de-interlaces better for video replay. For Windows desktop purposes, and gaming, then native res is always a good bet - but for video replay it isn't always quite so clear cut.

I'd try both and see which looks better. Keep an eye on fine details and diagonals. If you see diagonals with more jagged edges in one mode than the other then the scaling is likely to be poorer.

If you have any interlaced video material, see which route seems clearer and less blurry.
