Sony KV21LS30 always goes into 16:9 on AV1

This looks like a bug, but I wonder if someone could confirm that they see the same.

When I select AV1 (RGB) that TV always goes into 16:9. This is strange as its a 4:3 TV! This happens even when there is nothing connected!

Could someone take a look at theirs?

You can turn this 'feature' off via the service menu.

I just happened to spot this reply by chance... Please can you tell me how?

I know how to get into the service menu, but what option needs to be changed to 'fix' this?

I'm resurrecting this old thread in the hope that someone might have the answer to the orriginal question. My KV21LS30U is a 4:3 set. How do I stop the TV going into 16:9 mode when AV1 is selected and an RGB source is connected?
I never want or need the TV to go into 16:9 mode. I have even tried cutting pin 8 of a scart cable but it has not helped.

I can get into the service menu, but I cannot understand the codes in the options lists. Perhaps some kind soul might point me in the direction of a docment that holds an explaination of these long lists of codes?
