I was interested how it compared to other 50inch plasmas and on paper it seems good, tough I haven’t seen it in person.

Three SCART sockets with only one HDCP DVI (that can be used for HDMI and component via an adapter) is ridiculous though. The Philips also doesn’t support a 1080p signal, only 1080i, so it might not be great for Blu-ray players since you’ll be losing half the resolution. The power consumption is 257W which doesn’t seem too bad especially compared to 430W of the LG or 344W of the Pioneer, so it will be cheaper to run than other models.
It looks like the Philips was launched around October last year. The cheapest price I’ve found it for online is £2620 so the Costo price is good and you also get Costo’s warranty.
Does the Costco price include a stand? The Philips pdf brochure says it comes with a stand which seems to be
this.
Is it in store yet? I might go in and have a look.
