Panasonic TV TX-24DX1 Fault

Ref; Panasonic TV - TX - 24DX1.
The TV keeps switching from picture to standby and back again. When warmed up the picture is fine. Sometimes the picture fades with diagonal lines before switching to standby. All I get from the experts is that it may be the tube and very expensive.

the experts are more than likely correct, this does sound like a tube fault.

and would not be worth replacing due to the cost of the part etc.

I work for a company which repairs Panasonic TVs and we have had 4 or 5 of that TV in over the last couple of months with the same symptoms and each time it has turned out to be a tube fault. I think the tubes cost around £450 from memory - way too expensive to get the set repaired.

I'm a bit worried because I actually have the same set myself! But I'm considering buying a plasma soon anyway...

Many thanks for your reply, I have decided to buy a new one, not Panasonic.

Many thanks for your reply, have decided to buy a new one, not Panasonic. In fact I have not had too much luck with Panasonic equipment, my DVD/CD Player REF:DVD-RV32 stopped working last week indicating a fault HO7, what ever that is.

thats a faulty spindle motor, pretty inexpensive but what with the price of new ones you would be better to replace anyway.
