Just been on my fave team PNE's website and followed a link to the club store. I was browsing the tv's when I came across a Samsung 32" crt that is HD ready and has a profile of only 399mm and is only £489, I did not know you could buy these in the UK. So I thought I would pass this onto you guys as I know a lot of people prefer crt's over lcd but would like HD.

Mmm...didn't think that anyone would bother marketing HD CRT over here.

However it doesn't do HDMI, which could mean that you would not be able to connect a Sky HD box, as they are likely to put HDMI for content protection. Analogue outputs might be downscaled. Technically it cannot get the HD-ready logo unless it has HDMI or DVI/HDCP. So it's sort-of HD-ready. IMHO.

Also, it isn't clear if it has a dynamic focus gun...if not then you might be scanning 1080 lines, but they might smudge into each other, especially in the corners.

I've seen these slim tubes before and the geometry and colour purity was a bit ropey. Be careful.
