once a night the sleep timer will come on and start to count down to turn tv
off . i press sleep off. all is ok .but the next night it will do the same thing
how do i turn it off to stop this .or is there a fault.?

You left out a letter in the model no which is, I suspect, "W" as in "32DW6557".
It shows quite clearly on page 11 of the user manual how to deactivate the timer...it is under the "TV Menu", "TV Features", "Timer Function".

thanks for the reply . but i think that is for the alarm clock function
but i have checked there is no time set for on or off. its the sleep mode thats playing up

The sleeptimer button is the 5th row up from the bottom on the remote, 2nd button on RHS, you can key in from 0-240 mins.
Select 0 mins.

again thanks for your help but on mine it starts at. sleep off.then goes 15mins up to 240 mins 0 is not there .and there is no way to imput 0 .?

"Sleep Off" will be "0".
Are there any other weird symptoms, does it sometimes switch to "Ext" by itself?
or lockup? anything else?
Your model uses the Philips A10E chassis and has the infamous "Painter" IC which causes various faults but usually there is more than 1 symptom when it goes faulty.

geometry was all over the place.went in to service menu corrected that well its alot better than it was.?dont now if there is any think in there that i could have changed.?

So are you saying the sleep timer problems only started after you were in the service menu?

The option codes are usually printed on a label affixed to the rear of the crt...or sometimes on the label on the set back cover

i know how to get in the service menu .just need a copy of what the settings
