Lightbulb Popping Noise

Hi everyone - joined today, what a great site !!
Don't know if anyone has come accross this before...I have a Philips TV Model 28PW6515/05 (4 yrs old), in the last week everytime you change channels there is a fairly loud popping noise (sounds like it's coming from a speaker as when the sound is muted if goes).

Whether you use the remote or manually at the tv it's still the same

Any ideas please as it's slowly driving us all mad

many thanks

Your set uses the Philips A10E chassis and your problem is probably caused by the infamous "Painter" IC. (Just do a search of this forum using Painter) and you should find various messages about this model.
It's a very expensive IC and replacement inc labour usually comes in around £130.00-£150.00.
