Question Ghosting Problems - Sony kv-36hq100b

I am having real problems with ghosting on my television. I have a sony kv-36hq100b connected to a denon dht-500sd player. I recently bought a QED scart cable recommended on this site but that doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. This doesn't happen all the time but seems to be more frequent whether or not i'm noticing it more or not, I don't know. Can anyone give me a few ideas, maybe I need to change some settings on my television? Help I'm stuck.

Thanks 4 your time!!!!!!!!!

Hi

The term ghosting usually refers to problems related to signal quality (your aerial).
Does the problem occur when watching a video or DVD, or just ordinary TV?
Ned as much info as posible.

Most of the time its when I am watching dvd's but can sometimes happen when watching ordinary TV programs on SKY, when this happens on say BBC1 or ITV on SKY then I usually flick over to the ordinary ariel signal and the picture seems to be fine, so I'm a bit stuck really cos am a bit of a novice.

Thanks for your time!!

Hi

Discribe what you are seeing, blur, fuzz, double image ect.
If you cant give a more methodical discription I sujest you wait for the fault to develop.

Usually what I see on the screen is when the picture seems to be fast moving, say an action sequence or someone or thing moving fast on the screen there seems to be a fuzzy outline and sometimes small squares that follow them around but if people are say standing still and talking there doesn't seem to be a problem.!! Hope thats enough info I can't think of anything else to tell u.

Cheers m8!

Sounds normal to me!! I have this TV-what picture mode are you in? 100 Hz digital motion or the other one?! (I forget the name) What you describe sounds like the digital processing on this TV. You sometimes get a halo effect or picture break up(VERY slight) on FAST moving pictures. I also believe early models had this worse and the later ones(like mine) weren't so bad.

ps,picture break up/blocking can also be caused by any transmitted digital source. DVD obviously shouldn't do it but if it's worse on Sky that would point to your dish/STB.

Thanks for the advice m8. I think I am on the 100Hz anyway. Sounds like I can't do much about it which is a shame cos its a really good TV which I bought about 4 months ago from Dixons, it was a show tv and it was their last one son I got it for £650 which I think was a steal!.

Thanks 4 the help anyway, CHEERS.

ps,you may want to check with Sony that your TV has had the recall done-there should be a GREEN sticker(round) on the back-if not they will come out and mod. the TV!! Electric shock risk and degauss wires need tidying up.........
