You really need a VCR with two scart sockets one in and one out then you could daisy chain all equipment together 1st freeview then VCR and then DVD or put the DVD into the 1st scart and daisy chain the freeview then VCR To the 2nd scart socket, a visit to the january sales for a new vcr my friend. lol

Check your TV manual to see which of the two SCARTs accept RGB. Use that one for the Freeview box.

Wire the VCR to the Freeview box socket marked VCR. Set the VCR to AV1 or whatever the equivalent is for your set. The VCR should now 'see' the signal from the Freeview box and allow you to record it. When you play a tape the Freeview box should pass the signal direct to the TV. When you stop the tape then the Freeview signal should come back on to the TV.

Wire the DVD player to the second TV SCART. Check what signal standard that SCART can accept. Set the DVD player menu to output the correct signal (RGB or S-Video).

This is just one way of wiring things. IMO it's the easiest to live with - Freeview and TV recording is one one TV input, DVD playback is on the other.

You can choose to wire everything to the RGB SCART if you wish - VCR > Freeview > DVD > TV. It all depends how good your DVD and TV are at handling S-video.
