Loewe Aconda aspect ratio

I want to buy a Loewe Aconda 9281 HD. Before that, I have some questions about it. (Sorry, my english is probably not perfect.)

Widescreen televisions usually have a special feature: when I watch TV in 14:9 or 16:9 aspect ratio, there is an up and down panning capability. When I use this, I can see the upper or the bottom side of the zoomed 4:3 picture. This feature is important to me, because I hate, when the upper side of the actors had were cut off.

So, my questions are:

Has the Loewe Aconda this up and down panning feature? If the answer is no, the TV zoom out the middle or the upper section of the picture?
And what about the 14:9 ratio? Has it or not?

Have you asked the people at the store? Wouldn't you expect a decent retailer to know the answer or find out before you give them your money?

I have an older version of the Aconda so I'm not sure if the new model works in the same way, but on mine the "up and down pan" feature you mention is available. It's called "picture vert." in the Picture menu and you can move a 4:3 image up or down. However, the feature is not available when receiving an anamorphic widescreen image...it disappears from the menu.

You can take a 4:3 image and expand it to 14:9 (called "Panoramic") or fill the whole screen by selecting the "Cine" and "Zoom" settings. The "picture vert." feature remains available in all these modes.

So if the new Acondas behave the same as the older ones, then I think the TV will work in the way you desire. But check with your dealer or Loewe first just to be sure.
