TV/Video Combi - Sony / Philips?

Question TV/Video Combi - Sony / Philips?
Which is the most reliable flat screen combi make out of Sony and Philips? A few years ago, Philips combi's were not very reliable - If the video player section went faulty, the whole unit would not work. Is this still the case?
