Does anyone know how to access the service menu on Sony Widescreen TVs?

When TV is in standby, on the remote, press the info button, 5, VOL+, then the power button and the TV will come on. Now press menu and in there should be the service menu. Should work, if not, try turning TV off at the switch, hold the channel +/- buttons and turn TV on at switch while still holding the two buttons.

Hope this helps m8

Post Service menu

Thanks for that - accessed the service menu but didn't really know what to change. My TV model is KV-28WS2U, does anyone have any info on how to improve picture via service menu.

The problem i'm trying to fix is a band of white coming from bright objects in dark scenes. Particulary bad is Al Pacino's face in HEAT. It's like the contrast is too high but by turning down the contrast the problem is still there albeit not as obvious.

Should also mention problem is only apparent when watching DVDs. Digitable cable looks fine.

Any help is appreciated!
