Sony 28" FQ75 problem

Hi.

Has anyone experienced the same problem as me and even better, know of a fix??

Basically, when watching a really light scene on the TV, you can just about make out two parrallel lines running aggross the screen, say about 3 inches from the top & bottom of the screen. It's not really too much of an isse but bugs me nevertheless!!

Thanks in anticipation,

Simon

Most likely they are the horizontal wires supporting the aperture grille, they are usually visible in Trinitron sets.

Hi

They can be seen (horizontal wires supporting the aperture grille), usually if you look very hard. Once you have seen them it seems alot worse.
Most people do not notice them.

does this forum hold archives going back a few years?
this was big news back then - a design fault, nasty scrolling bars.
i had to threaten court action to get a refund for mine - apparently there was some kind of fix released later on but i couldnt say for sure.
presumably your tv will be well out of warranty by now so you may have to put up with it.
