how do I lash it up to a VCR and a DVD-player?

So. TV is a Panny TX28DTM1 – widescreen CRT Integrated Digital TV – with two Scarts, one RGB. I've sort-of connected-up a VCR and a DVD-player to it but suspect I've not done it right; either that or I've not tuned the VCR to 'see' the digital channels.

I can tape digi' channels which have an analogue counterpart, though there's definite ghosting going on. But pure digi' channels? Forget it. I read the handbooks that came with both TV and VCR but go glassy-eyed within a paragraph. Like Doctor King I, too, have a dream: that one day, electrical goods manufacturers will employ copywriters who can write in English: clearly and unambiguously: yes, like this: and can punc!tuate: damn.

connect from tv AV2 as this is your digi box to av2 of your video, then using the input on video select AV2 or E2 or whatever your particular model states but it will be along these lines, dvd goes to AV1
what model video would help in the unlikey event of this not working

it actually sounds like you have tuned video in on an rf station, and this is having a set do with another channel, you can move the video to a different channel but you would be much better picture qualitywise and ease of use wise to set it up on scart, and not bother tunning in on rf at all

Do I have a red face or is that the colour-balance out of whack? Er, I forgot to mention that yes, I did connect the RF cable, come to think. I believe I did it because Scart on its own didn't seem to work. I'll follow your advice over the weekend and gie it another go. In the interim, thank you.
