Whats best, VGA or DVI?

The screen I have has no pc input,

My laptop has a Dvi-i and a vga output,

Will I be best getting a VGA>HDMI adapter or a DVI>HDMI adapter

My initial thought is its not going to make a blind bit of difference but have nothing to base that on

Cheers
Steve

All things being equal you'd be better off going for the DVI to HDMI as it's only converting one digital format to another. VGA to HDMI would involve an intermediate analogue stage, I would expect that to cost more too.
