Help please! Better value for money: DLP or Plasma?

Hi there, I've been reading the forums in the last couple of days with great interest and really need some advice from you guys.

Basically I'm trying to decide whether I should fork out about £2.5K for a decent plasma such as as the 42" Panasonic TH42PV500 or whether I should get a DLP TV such as the 45" Sagem HD-D45.

There is of course also the Samsung SP50L7HX which has had good reviews but I think is too big for the size of my living room which is 21" x 14".

I would be grateful if you could advise on the pros and cons of each technology. Plasmas I understand are an older technology and subject to "burn out". DLPs have the rainbow effect. I'm so confused, don't know which tv to get - please help!
