home cinema vision poll

What do rate as the best viewing experience for home cinema ?

i own a plasma & still say a projector is far better for a home cinema experience, even better with a designated room. Also a projector is the most cost effective (££$$ per inch).

projector

plasma

rear projection

flat lcd tv

standard crt tube

Projector for me, although this probably entails the biggest changes to your room for viewing and it is more of a selective viewing option than ordinary TV.

just wanted really to get an idea of what most people prefer, as I regret getting rid of my projector & getting a plasma, but at least i get more use out of the plasma though.

I'll probably get a cheaper tv next time and get another projector.

cheers.

Has to be a projector for me but I think, unless it is in a dedicated room, a large screen TV is still needed for average day to day watching.

Hard one to answer. I have not experienced a projector but imagine that it would be the ultimate. However room size and shape dictate to most of us. I am happy with my 32" crt but anything larger would not fit into the location it currently holds.

For the best experience you either have to look at the best or the biggest picture. For biggest projectors win hands down and CRTs still have the upperhand in SD picture. Given I watch my day to day TV on a decent CRT then its the size of a projector screen that impresses me the most (just too used to excellent picture )

I would like a projector at some point, but at the moment, a well calibrated and set up plasma is very good.
