Philips Pixel Plus 2 Geometry HELP!!!!

Hi
I will like some help on the New 29" Philips Pixel Plus 2 TV that I bought.
The problem is that the Picture is curved at the Bottom only, I have tried to fix it by going into the Service Menu but no luck. The Picture is bent like a bow towards the ground from the edges and it seems to be a bit inwards. The fault is especially more appreciate with scrolls that run at the bottom (Like some News Channels etc)
anyone do let me know what to do, I got a 100Hz Philips Tele first got it replaced with another 100Hz Tele, both had the same problem then I got this Pixel Plus 2 tele, and it too has the same problem AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
The picture quality on this tele is top notch , but the Gemetry Problem is not cool. What to do, should I get rid of the Philips altogether ? but what to get that matches the same quality in 29" ?
Anyways the model number is Philips Pixel Plus 2 "29PT9421/56R".

Nope

Thanks for the reply. Hmm no no there are no speakers of Mine beneathe the TV but the Tele's own speaker (Built in) I thought you were asking about that speaker. I guess that could also cause the problem ? If not then what to do to fix this Geometry Problem ? I Have tried tinkering the Service Menu Options but it didnt help.

I have the same problem with my philips 32pw9509. I also noticed there is no speaker in the bottom, although it seems like there is one.

It's probably "within tolerance". Good geometry is actually quite hard to achieve on a large CRT. This is one respect in which the venerable CRT most emphatically does not product "the best" picture.

However, if it's new, you could always insist on an engineer's visit.

Thanks for the reply, yeah i have got the Service Center persinals to check it out and I am insisting on getting it fixed or replaced with another Philips TV of the same Model, but then I think if 3 TV's have the same problem why wouldnt the 4th be OK, though I saw another Tele at another store that was fine, so I was thinking about getting that one but then I think that there might be something else wrong with that TV and would know only when I buy it. Do you know how this problem can be solved ? I mean the tech side. It is annoying to say the least watching that bend, and well if you are concious then it does start to get on your nerves.
Thanks for the help.

All I can say is, it probably can be improved by service menu adjustments - factory settings are usually fairly rough - but it may well not be totally fixable. And it isn't really a job for someone untrained.

I sympathise; I can't tolerate poor geometry either. My own solution to this (and a couple of other typical issues with large CRTs) was to sell mine and buy an LCD screen.

Hey, i got the same problem, my tv is 32PW6542 and do the same thing you are saying, it bends on both sides of the picture, it is very noticibles with scrolls or any panoramic view from side to side.

Unfortuly my cousin has the same tv and do the same thing, i browse around the forums and all this model do this as well.

I call Customer service and the Guy told this can`t be fix it, since the tv is like that

Mmm I think that this HAS TO BE FIXED, as it is very noticeable with the scrolls like you say. Anyways I will keep dated about the progress regarding this problem. Lets hope that it gets fixed.
As I said earlier that the bend was fixed but it moved to the upper half of the TV. Today the Service Guy will come and then I will let you know what happened.

yeah please, let me know if they can fix it, coz on my case they said it can`t be fixed.

It is an improvment they moved from 1 corner to another, though, it means it`s not the Tuve or something like that.

By the way, what the guy said when u explained and show him the problem? he notice right away? he tried to convince you that nothing can be done?

Hey
Well the thing is That THIS IS A FAULT, and when I told the dealer who sold me the set, they were very understanding and changed the set, but the display tha I checked at the store was from DVD so when I brought it home there was the same "BEND" I called them up and they sent the service perosnals. But it wasnt fixed. Then they changed my set and there was an option for a Wega and a Pixed Plus 2 or a Samsung. I saw all but thought that Pixel Plus 2 was exxeptional as far as the Pic quality was. And I repeated the same mistake that I checked it on DVD and brought it home, to my horror it had the same Problem I called the Dealer AGAIN, and after few days they changed it with another Pixel Plus 2 , and it had the same trouble, as I repeated the same mistake of not checking the scrolls (Yup it does sound like I am the most stupid person in the world, but believe me I was not expecting this) anyways it had the same trouble though to a lesser extent.
Today the service guy came and he told me that they are adjusting the "YOLK" I think the coil that is attached to the Picture Tube ? but anyways the picture is much much better than it was previously, but I am after the Philips and WILL GET THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM SOLVED as I have contacted the country incharge (service center) and he assured me that it would be taken care of.
Anyways anyone else offering help would be appreciated.

The set I own is pretty much fixed, I am satisfied right now that the picture is mmm 80% fixed, the service man adjusted the YOLK Setting (Like I said earlier) at least that was what he told me, anyways I think you should get yours fixed too, if the dealer is resistant you should insist.
Take Care

Hey People,

They took my set to the repair center. The mechanic said the geometry was unaccaptable. They return it within 10 working days. I post what the results are.

OK, I looked at the status from my repair and they replaced the whole tube. My god, I did about half a year to get rid of the white bar in the middle of the screen (had a new set) and now they replaced the tube!!! I wish I never brought the set back . I could live with the bad geometry. With the white line present I can't watch soccer propperly, and that's bad!!

Maybe I have luck, and I get a set back that hasn't got the white bar and has good geometry. But I'm afraid that it's not gonna happen.

I let you know when I get the set back.
