I've got an Eltax Atomic A-8 active subwoofer connected directly to the external out of my Toshiba 46WHOB rear projection TV. I've tried different cables etc but I get a constant what sounds like low level radio interference. Only when the volume knob is turned to 10 does it drop down so that it's hardly noticeable (however it is still there) any fractional movement of dial below that it comes back fairly strong.It's reasonably far away from the TV. Could it be the speaker or the TV amp? <br />Any ideas or possible solutions would be gratefully recieved. Thanks

This may be a red herring but how have you plugged the sub and TV in terms of power. I've read on here that if they are plugged either into a multiplug extension or in separate wall sockets (not sure which) it can create some interference on the sub. Its to do with the way they are earthed. I could be completely wrong but try changing the way they are plugged in to see if it makes a difference. If I've given complete rubbish I apologise but I read something to this effect somewhere on this forum. Also no one else replied to your post <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> .

Thanks James - that didn't work....oh well.<br />Listening to it loud it's actually playing some radio station, tried different leads and from different outputs - same result. Don't know what to do really. will try and contact Tosh as I got it from then on a promotion for a new RPTV

Hi Magikkk, I too have the same problem with my Atomic-8 sub, but mine is connected from the digital amp and not a tv. It looks like this is a RF problem in the amp circuitry of the sub, lack of damping or something.

Sorry it didn't work magikk, it was worth a try though. Maybe its time to start saving up and get a nice decent sub like a Rel or something like that <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> , well worth it in the long run.<br />I'm saving for a Rel Q150 at the mo (£400 @ Laservision).<br />Not bad for a free Sub though you get a 1 station receiver thrown in <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> .

Thanks fellas<br />That's the thing though, if only I could tune it in a bit clearer for the football scores it wouldn't be so bad.....<br />I bet that's why Tosh were giving that sub away free<br />I can reduce it only when it's turned up to 10 and the phase is adjusted to a point in the middle of it's range, only then is it almost (but not quite) inaudible

LOL<br /> I know this doesnt help at all but i have quite a few friends who's active pc speakers also behave in this strange manner
