Duncan, you need to talk to Macready/Jason on that one. He is now truely the Tosh expert.
And I'd say whoever told you that about aftercare is talking out of their a**e!
It's as good if not better than others. Toshiba have a team of their own engineers to go see customers if there is a problem. Not many can say that.
Name and shame the retailer that told you that!
I'd avoid them. Not stocking Toshiba for that reason is a load of plop.
More likely Toshiba thought them inadequate.

But as I say, speak to Jason. Member no. 6.

Dunc, I would have a look at other Tosh postings on this section. Seems there are a few problems about with getting the "real" Toshiba people. I had also forgotten the question of grey imports, if you buy a grey import (and it's not always possible to tell, I have even seen authorised dealers selling grey stock) it might be more difficult to obtain real manufacturer service in the UK.

Duncan, if the "specialist" is our local specialist then I am a little shocked because they have stocked Toshiba sets in the past (and kept trying to flog me one!). I believe what General says is correct, the only problem seems to be that some suppliers send in their "experts" first before they contact Tosh and, in general, the supplier's "experts" know nothing. This just adds a delay and p*sses the customer off.
OOOOOOOOH, General Skanky, don't force us to reveal their name, us Sad Masochistic Clients of theirs may want to part-ex our AVC-A1Ds one day!

Yes it is our local dealer, ( which I have NEVER had any probs with in past so will NOT name them )

As you may be aware I am seeking to get a BIG screen and need to get a 0% finance deal. It looks like it will be courts as even though the TVs cost a little more I can get a 3 year 0% deal with NO deposit

MJS the store in question have said they no longer stock toshiba b'cos of the aftercare,
