Post Thomson vs JVC

I can't decide between a two sets. Both are 28" flat screen. One is a JVC at about £585 the other a Thomson at about £550. The Thomson has vitual Dolby but I'm not too fussed about that since I've got a 5.1 DVD system. The Thomsom is 100Hz and is cheap for that sort of spec. I'm leaning towards JVC since I don't know much about Thomson - except that their e-mail help line is very efficient! Am I being too brand conscious? Any advice gratefully received.

Cheers

As far as I can gather, Thomson isn't bad in terms of picture/sound quality or it's general specification.

But.........I've heard that you can run into problems should a repair or spare parts become nesseccary in the future.

Personally, I'd stick with the mainstream brands like: Panasonic, Hitachi, Sony, Jvc, Toshiba and Philips.
