16:9 Converter For Older Wega

Hello all, this is my first post here. I was referred here from DVD Review Forum. I wasn't aware you existed. I'm glad to be here. Here's my question, I don't think it's been asked before.

I have one of the original Wegas, which I bought a couple of years ago. It does not have a widescreen option. The model number is KV-36FV1. I read in some press release a while back that Sony was going to market some sort of converter box to enable WS. Does anyone know if this is available, or if there is another way to go, other than getting a new set? The set is great other than that. Any help would be appreciated
