Hi,

I am thinking of buying this TV. Would appreciate input from anybody who can highlight problems with this TV. Is it a good buy when you compare with Toshiba 37ZP18.

i have this telly and it is very good only problems are that in blue screen mode i have noticed an area in the bottom left hand corner which i though was down to screen burn, but i have notified the dealer who say it's not a problem it certainly is not noticible during normal viewing.The other gripe is that when titles run on the bottom of the screen they appear blured and some times speed up and slow down don't know what that is but it could be something to do with the scan mode.

I did reply to your request a couple of weeks ago, but you may have missed it.

I took delievery of the 36PW9525 this week, but haven't connected it up yet due to decorating. However, it is an excellent set as I've seen it in action.

What can I say....I'm very impressed with the TV! Finished setting it up this afternoon and now I can't get near it for the family! Ah well.............must prove it to be good.

I'm off to set the rest of the system up when they've all finished. Hope you're still pleased with yours. What level of settings do you find work best?

Did you audition all the 36" models available? Just wondered how the Philips did up against the Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba. I've not seen the 36PW9525 in action.

Dumfy, I remember reading a HCC article on settings for the Philips around six months ago, after adjusting my set I found the picture to be much much better.
I'll post them back on this site as soon as I can.

MarkB, I auditioned the Philips against the Panasonic and the Sony, and while the Sony came very close I still preferred the Philips.
Of course it all depends on your preference, Tv setups, sources etc. Almost a year after purchase, having just recently setup a Tosh 32ZP18 for a friend, I definately would also have a serious look at the 36ZP18.

The only set I never managed to audition was the Tosh. It is supposed to be really good so you may want to compare it with the Philips. I've seen the Panasonic and Sony in the shops and friends houses and the Philips was best, in my humble opinion. Again, it's all subjective.

Spikey, if you could post the HCC set up for the 9525, that would be just great. I've searched the magazine sites for info on this TV with no joy. Thanks

I seem to remember the setup guide was on an advice page, some while back now. I'll have a look for it although I think I might have thrown it away, if so I'll just get the settings direct from my Philips.

Does this TV have PIP? I know it has dual screen tex, but does it have any other multi screen options?
Also can you switch from 100 to 50hz as I find that 50hz seems to be better for live sports.

Contrast - 60%
Brightness - 45%
Colour - 45%
Sharpness - 30%
Tint - normal
Digital Options - Digital Scan
Dynamic Contrast - Minimum
Active Control - Off
DNR - Maximum (dependant on your terrestrial signal)
Smart Picture - another personal preference
