Stand Question

Might sound a silly question, but I am thinking of buying a Sony KD32DX200 - this is the first TV that I will have purchased that comes with a stand. However I do not need it - can somone kindly confirm if the TV will sit on a unit rather than on the stand.

Seems a waste - but it would be better if these items were optional - would save me paying for something I do not need.

Sorry if it is a daft question - but I just do not know.

Thanks.

Hello Ian and welcome to the Forum.

As far as I'm aware, any CRT type TV will sit on a flat horizontal surface.

Now, who knows different?

As long as it's built to hold the weight, there should be no problem. That Tv weighs 70kgs, so it's not light. An average TV type stand/cabinet in Ikea are built to hold about 75-80 max.
