Which of these 2 rear projection TVs should I go for?

Hi there. I wonder if you knowledgeable folks can give me a hand here. I'm currently in Okinawa, Japan, just to set the scene.

I've got the chance of picking up a JVC high definition 48 inch Iart AV-48WP74 rear projection TV for $1000. A military person is moving and their new place won't take the TV. I thought this seems a decent price, but a couple of people have thought otherwise.

Or as an alternative, I could get a National TH4010 40" projection TV for $350. Which out of the 2 would you recommend? I know the JVC one will be better, but will it be worth the extra $750 for me? I'll be using it mainly for playing DVDs and games through my Xbox (which does have HD capabilities).

Please be aware that this is a UK based Forum.

As far as I know, the TV's that you mention are not available in the UK so, whilst I'd love to help, it's very unlikely that you'll get any assistance.

You might get better feedback from a US-based forum, because they use the same TV system as Japan ?
