Composite fights artefacts?

When wtaching a DVD-R recorded in low quality mode (SLP - 6 hours recording) on my 100Hz Sony KV-32CS70, some artefacts are visible.

That's normal, since recording quality is low.

But I noticed that if I set my DVD source output to "Composite" instead of RGB, pic isn't as "crisp" as in RGB but 90 % of the artefacts go away...

Is it a normal "phenomenon"?
