philips rgb

hi all, can anyone help me out? I have just purchased a philips DW329625 and i have noticed that the rgb picture is not much better than composite! It is all cabled up with good quality scart leads so what can the problem be? thanks in advance

the rgb picture is very grainy and seems out of focus slightly and when i swith to composite the picture does get grainier with more noise but not a huge amount worse. The picture is miles worse than my old panasonic set! do u think its because it is a 100 hz set?

It may be a silly question, but do you have your sources set to output RGB?

I don't think it is due to it being a 100Hz set. I'd consider taking it back. My set is infinitely better on RGB.

Well, RGB should be much better than composite and, according to you, on your television this isn't the case. If your sources are set to RGB and you are using good cabling, the likely conclusion is that there must be something wrong with the TV - poor QC at the big manufacturers (saving money) leads to TVs with problems hitting the market place. My own suffers from some convergence issues in the top left corner, but not bad enough for me to be too bothered about it. If mine had the sort of problem yours is suffering from though, I'd take it back.
