Sony kd-28dx200

Hi, i am living in the republic of ireland and i am very interested in buying the Sony kd-28dx200, the main reason is the ability to change between 50htz and 100htz mode. HOwever i was told that there are different frequency bands in England and the republic of Ireland and the tv would not work. DOes anybody know any way around this problem? Anybody in Ireland who have any experience on this issue?

"100Hz TV works by digitising the TV signals, feeding them into a "frame store" which basically stores a complete picture, and then scans that same picture twice to give 100Hz.

Storing a complete picture requires quite a lot of memory, and manufacturers often cut corners to reduce the amount of memory required. This can lead to pixellation of the picture, giving poor resolution, and grey scales that appear "stepped", instead of a smooth transition from black to white."

This was a response I got from a post I made a week or so ago.
It appears all TV broadcasts are 50hz and it is the TV with 100hz technology that processes it to 100hz.
So I guess the bit about Ireland not being able to receive 100hz is false?

In the end I went for the Sony 32dx51U which is a 50hz TV and I have to say I am very pleased with it.
The 100hz just seemed too much of a risk. I can't stand smearing on the screen and I am not sensitive to the flicker as I cannot see any!
