help im begining to get anoyed

all i want is a sharp picture 100hz 32" set with pro-scan and a five year warranty. i thought ok get the tosh 32zp46, nope comet want £699 and dont seem to want to do a deal on the 5 year warranty, so currys say theyll match plus 10% no deal on the warranty. ok try the big dep stores house of fraser, nope, john lewis nope. whats the cheapest price anybodys seen the 32zp48 for in the high street cause h of f and jl will only match this model. and im screwed if im gonna spend over £800 on a 32" when they were selling the 36" for £799, its after christmas they should be tying to do a deal? i dont get it currys putting up the price of the 36" . whats the next best thing to a tosh 32zp48/46?

Have you tried Allders? They do free 5 year guarantees on their CRT's (not LCD's or Plasma's though) and they do stock some JVC's. Beware though - their on-line selection is only a fraction of what they have within their stores. A store visit is a must.

sorry but

ive resurected this thread cause:

i tried the JVC 32d40, it has some geometry convergence and picture flicker. now rather than try another one and **** off John Lewis if its the same if not worse. im now considering a backup plan. whats the pic quality like on the pany pd50's? and where can i use to price match the pany against John Lewis? crampton and moore are a little pricy this time. or maybe theres a better set than both of these?

JL don't sell the Tosh 32zp48 just the 36 so they won't match it. They can still get one on special order but it'll cost you over £1200.

There's not much point comparing convergence on different sets as this is one thing that will vary from set to set. All modern domestic tubes are pre-converged at the factory (the D40 uses a Toshiba CRT IIRC) and there will be a tolerance limit. The set will almost certainly be within this limit unless it has received a knock but may still not be acceptable to you.
