Screenburn on conventional direct view CRT televisions?

I have just taken delivery of a 36" JVC tv. I am aware of screenburn issues regarding Plasma and rear projection CRT televisions. Does this apply to conventional direct view CRT's or can I safely watch on screen logo channels without any problems.?

Hello Charles,

Yes, screen burn certainly applies to conventional CRT's.

But for normal viewing, I would suggest you don't get paranoid about it!

(Unless, of course, your "normal" viewing is at high contrast on the same channel day after day.

)

Best plan is to enjoy your new tv!

Yes, you can get screen burn on Direct View CRT, but it takes a while unless you're really silly and run it at 100% contrast on a peak white or colour logo all the time.

But if you run at sensible levels then it shouldn't really be a problem.
