Hi everyone,

I have just sold my 2 week onl Philips 32PW9308 because I couldn't put-up with the artefacts and over-processing of the football.

Can I have some suggestions please - I want a 32" TV to watch Sky Digital on and as mentioned I am especially interested in a great picture for the footy. Does this mean I need to abandon the 100hz sets in favour of an analogue 50hz one?

I only want to spend about £500 but will wait for the sales after Christmas...

I had the same problem mate

I settled for the JVC AV32T4 32" Widescreen TV with home DVD cinema system. It's awesome - just having a bit of difficulty seeing if it's 60Hz compatible

The Philips is a well reviewed TV - it's possible you didn't get chance to try all the settings (most of the processing can be turned off or reduced). Bear in mind that part of the problem could be your Sky signal (have you checked signal strength and quality in the set-up?). A football match is the first thing that will show up a lack of bitrate. Also, you need to look carefully at any 50Hz 32" TV before you spend your cash, in case you can detect flicker (smaller TVs don't usually show it up, but 32" is pushing the limit). For reference Panasonic and Toshiba both do 50Hz 32" sets, which should be worth a demo.

Can I ask why you didn't just return it, please?

beacuse i bought it from www.total-digital.co.uk and they would charge me 20% of the retail price beacause the set was not faulty. A good lesson to learn - buy from a reputable retailer.
