Currys new TV add!! OMGG LMAO!!!

.......:rotf l:....oh!! my God that's funny...sorry just had to share.

So Currys will advise you, telling you about the differences between different technologies and getting you to the set YOU want.....wonder if they'll spend as much on staff training to back the add up.
Think I'll pop in today and say I want a plasma and see how long it takes for them to push LED on me.

...yes good God, half our chat and the chap didn't push LED on me, we'll things seem to be improving. They have the 50" ST50 for 1099 with 10% off this weekend, seems quite good.

Had a good chat with the guy who mentioned they do get training, seemed a bit miffed at me asking, it was hard not to laugh when he said it.
Apparently they setup a room to demo sets as a trial, but as it wasn't very popular they stopped They do have a sound room but I never knew they we're demoing sets, he said they advertised the fact, I've never seen it though.

He seemed a bit miffed they had sets only displaying one feed though proudly states it was better than Comet and JL, though I think my local JL is better. They do have a few sets setup with blurays though few and all LED LCDs. There is a clear shift happening I must say, still not great but many staff seem to want to improve things.
Would be great if Citrus offered the use of a demo room, if they did tha, offered better trained staff and improved after care it would be great for average Joe out there.

It seems good yes but Richer Sounds are giving away a free Bluray player with the same TV (priced at £995ish) and two pairs of glasses.

I asked the guy in Curry's if they would consider selling me the TV with a couple of pairs of glasses thrown in, thinking in a large commercial store they would to get the sale, but they said no. I left with no TV.

Richer Sounds, here I come!

Sounds a good deal, my local said they price match RS but didn't think to ask about matching deals. IMO RS is still the better place to buy from(that's my opinion not AVForums just to be clear) Citrus seem to be improving but a long way to go IMO.

Although to be fair, Curry's have not called me back and offered 15% off. . . strange as Comet are doing just that.
I'll pop in and see them. The deal breaker is coming down to the warranty. I don't want to pay for one really, but want the TV under £1000 with at least 2 pairs of glasses :P
I don't ask for much! :D

theres very little margin in TVs, or electricals in general.
unless the general manager agrees to you getting some free glasses and the store swallowing the discount and him/her having to explain it to the area manager the next day, theres not much haggling you can do with a DSG store.
they are under the illusion that their prices are so good they don't have to discount.
plus every single customer would then want "a deal" and before ya know it...company bankrupt.

stores without a Comet nearby are allowed a total of 1.5% discount of their daily, weekly and 4wk period total takings.
stores with a Comet very nearby are allowed up to 2.5%
