Question Help! Connecting SKY/TV/DVD RECORDER & 5.1 Surround sound

Hi all

I would really appreciate some help here as I'm a bit confused. I have the system working however there are a couple of gliches which I will elaborate on later in this post.

This is how I have my system set up:
  • Goodmans TV
  • DVD Recorder (Goodmans)
  • DVD Amp and 5.1 (Goodmans)
  • Sky Receiver (Thomson)

No VCR - whats the point lol - its going in the bin!!

SCART 1
Thompson SKY Box (TV Scart) to TV (AV 1 Scart Socket

SCART 2
DVD Recorder (Scart out socket) to TV )AV 2 Scart Socket)

Main Aerial (TV Aerial)
into Thomson Sky Box (ASerial in)

2nd Aerial Cable
Into Thompson sky box (RF out 2) to TV (Aerial Socket at back of TV)

3rd Separate Aerial Cable
DVD Recorder (Aerial in) to Thomsen Sky box (RF out 1)

Audio Cable 1
Red & White = from Amp (Tuner Input) to DVD Recorder (Audio Out) - this gives me sound when a dvd is playing through the amp.

Audio Cable 2
Red & White = from Amp (TV/ VCR Input) to Sky Box (L&R Sockets) this gives me sound if I want it through the amp from sky.

The above works but all channels are received through sky. I am unable to tune the tv to recieve channels 1, 2, 3 and 4 independently, - is there anyway round this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi
I am a little confused to why you cannot tune in your tv. Why not just put the aerial directly to your tv, then tune it in, then connect it up as it should be with the aerial loopping through each item then lastly into your tv.

WOAH - I've just realised something, you say aerial feed(s) into Sky boxes - surely these are satellite rf feeds - are you/we confusing Sky aerial feeds with terrestrial DTT aerial feeds ? regards, yt
