Question Advice needed on widescreen TV for £400

I'm a widescreen virgin and need advice on which brand to go for! Cannot believe the range of makes and retailers out there! My maximum budget is £400 and I would like a stand. Does anyone have any recommendations as to model and/or retailer to purchase from? Any advice at all would be very much appreciated! Cheers!
