Question Sony KVFS76U

Fisrt post and new to all this so please be gentle I have the above TV,when first turned on from cold the picture is really bad for a few mins(convergence is out) after a few mins the picture is fine but any text on the far right of the screen is slightly out of focus. Is the convergence problem when cold an issue or normal?? And should i get an engineer out for the focus problem(only seems bad when the background is WHITE) any help/info would be great. It's been like this from day 1 BTW and is now 3 months old........

This is what it looks like when turned on from cold, after a few mins it's normal

That is definitely not normal IMO. You should get an engineer to have a look at it. It will probably get worse and worse with time, and I think the faulty components may put stress on other components and wear them out too. I had a similar problem a few times (!) with an old Philips RPTV I had.

Was the set new when you bought it or an in-store display unit?

The set was purchased brand new from Curry's online, what worries me is the box had a hole in the side when it turned up They also used a trolly to get it in the house-even though it has a picture of a trolly with a big cross through it on the box!! I fear Curry's online service engineers will be pants ......... If anyone else has experience of these sets please post!!

Definately get it seen to. Recon something to do with power. I recon you could end up with a new set out of it. Not many real TV repairiers operate out of these shops

Well after loads of emails and phone calls they have agreed to replace it(i didn't see that it was fair for a TV with a SRRP of £2K on release should need a new tube after 11 weeks!!)

There's always going to be defective tubes, no matter how much they cost.

Tv delivered today and is fine Would have had a new remote too if the delivery men hadn't dropped it on the patio. It really does break my heart sometimes to see sensitive equipment wrecked by ham fisted delivery people..........
