Panasonic 28'' CRT - RBG through SCART quality problems

Hi, guys!
I have a TX28SL1F CRT model from Panasonic. On AV1 SCART input is connected a DVB-C receiver from my cable provider. It works on RGB or CVBS mode through SCART.
When on RGB, the picture is not sharp enough as I want it to be. The Sharpness setting of the TV does absolutely NOTHING, but I can change it. Also the AI (gives more contrast) and P-NR (makes the picture smoother) in the TV's picture menu are not actually working (they are active, but don't lead to a change in the picture). Also the contrast is not so good on RGB.
When the receiver is set to CVBS mode, the picture is sharper and more contrast! This is good for me, but the OSD menus of the Set-Top-Box are looking awful - flickering. But in this mode I can actually change the sharpness and AI function really gives far more contrast!
So is there a way to add more sharpness and contrast to the picture, but remain in RGB mode? Is it normal that those adjustments from the menu are not working?

Tv engineers will tell you this is 'proper rgb' because you can't alter colour settings via the user menu. I've just wired up an elderly panasonic crt for a friend with much the same rgb colour problems as yours.

Personally on sets like this, I use to use S-video because you can alter colour/contrast/sharpness settings without composite dot crawl spoiling the picture.

Note, you can alter sharpness/colour settings in rgb on many makes of tv including panasonic these days. If you only want to use rgb then you might need a different tv from the one you are using.
