Question Power supply problem

Hi,

My question is regarding a pc monitor but as it has got some common things to a tv I would like to ask a question maybe someone can help me.

I got a proview 786N monitor dead. With preliminary fault finding I discovered 2 faulty diodes on the bridge and a blown fuse. I tried to search for a short circuit on the board or faulty component but could not find any faulty component. So I replaced the faulty diodes and fuse and switched on the set. As soon as I switched on the diodes went faulty again and the fuse blown again.

Can anyone help me?

Check the primary side of the power supply especially if there's an STR.... type IC as the power regulator. If there is, replace it and any small electrolytic capacitors in the primary (check for any fusible or o/c resistors along the way).
Also re-check the diodes you are using. You sometimes have to fit the manufacturers exact same part to get it to work properly (same goes for the power regulator IC).
