Question Philips CRT in factory mode

I did read that the 'F' means it is in factory mode, I don't the exact model apart from it is a 100hz flat screen about 5 years old.

Is there a way to get out of factory mode or has it finally given up ?
I have exactly the same problem. I get an "F" in the upper right corner, which means that the TV is in factory mode. At the same time it goes back to EXT1 all the time. I am actually able to move away from EXT1 if I set a device on the EXT1, but I am not able to remove the factory mode and therefore unable to use the remote control.

I saw that Philips suggested this to help on the same thing on a LCD screen:
"To exit the factory mode, press the ‘VOLUME -' and 'PROGRAM -' buttons on the TV at the same time for 5 seconds."
I tried it but it didn't help on my CRT TV.

My television is a 32P6005/01

Any help!?!

Thanks,
Krissi

I suspect your model no is 32PW6005.
Your set has one of the symptoms of a faulty "Painter" IC and is probably not cost effective to repair.

My Philips 32pw6005 has just gotten the same problem: An 'F' in the upper right corner and I cannot find a resolution anywhere on the internet.

This "To exit the factory mode, press the ‘VOLUME -' and 'PROGRAM -' buttons on the TV at the same time for 5 seconds." didn't work at all. I am able to use the buttons on the telly (sound +/-and program +/-). But I cannot use the remote control...

Is there any easy solution or do I need a new telly?
