Question Samsung TV sound via hifi is only coming from one speaker

Hi,
I am trying to get my tv sound to go through my hifi amp.
I have connected red/white interconnects from audio-out on the tv to the aux-in on my amp. At the moment the sound is only coming through the left speaker.
I have tried a different source and both speakers are working. I've looked through the menus on the tv using the remote, to no avail.
The tv is a Samsung Plano CRT, and my amp is a Marantz PM4000
Any pointers greatly appreciated

I needed the model no so I could download the user manual from the Samsung website but it aint there...I suspect this is an old model and the manual has been removed.
Have you tried a replacement lead?
Is there maybe a "Balance" control (parked at one end instead of the middle ) within the audio/sound menu?

I tried looking for a balance option, although both actual tv speakers are good. It may be that the output connectors have failed inside the tv.
I'll keep muddling, thanks

They shouldn't unless the Tv or phono sockets have had rough handling.

I assume of the red and white cables, one is for the left speaker and one for the right ?

If so have you tried switching then over and if so does the problem swaps to the other speaker ?

When you used a different source, did you use the same cables as you tried on the TV ?

Tried swapping cables too.
Just wondering, I'm only using standard hifi interconnects, and although some sound comes through, would it be better to buy a dedicated audio lead?

Probably not. I've connected my Samsung TV to my Hi-Fi via the two audio connectors with a standard 2phono to 2phono lead and it works fine.

What happens if you use just one connector in your TV (say the red one) and then move it to the white socket - do you get sound from one speaker in both cases?
