Sony KD32DX40 AV1 RGB colour distortion problem

I’ve made a cable from the RGB monitor output of my PC’s ATI graphics card as described here .The cable then plugs into the RGB SCART socket of the TV, a Sony KD32DX40. I’ve applied the Powerstrip software changes, but the image I get is not what I expected. The colours appear corrupted, or distorted, as if magnets been put too close the screen. A white screen appears pink at the bottom and progressively gets whiter at the top. I’ve tried the cable on another 14” Sony and the picture is perfect, so it’s a problem with the DX40.

I’ve contacted the author of the article, and he doesn’t know what it could be. Does anyone on this forum have an idea what the problem could be?

Thanks,
David.
