Laptop to TV via..... HDM(bloody)I

Hi guys, first time poster here (woop)

Recently bought a new 32" Sanyo telly and decided what fun it would be to have my laptop running through it!!

Everything is perfect.... the screen has nothing missing... nor does it have a gap around the edges... the only problem is.... everything is sodding centred and pretty damned small!! When I run it through VGA... PERFECT (as you would expect) but HDMI seems to wanna play silly buggers!!

Now Iv tried everything short of shooting it with a shot gun from about 5 feet away... but alas I have no solution to my little cherub of a bug bear!!

Any solutions would be great!!

Many thanks in advance!!

If the VGA connection is perfect, then why do you want to use HDMI instead?

What have you set the HDMI output resolution to? Is this correct for the TV?

You haven't said what TV you have, that information is normally helpful.

The HDMI cable also fits into the laptop better and doesnt pester me by falling out. Also I think the clarity is a miniscule better... which in my case always means im gonna take the better option where possible.

The TV is the Sanyo CE32LD47-B 32".

The resolution is set to 1920 x 1010

Hope that helps

**BUMP**

All I need is a way to make the items on the screen bigger... such as text, icons, start bar menu... everything.

Any answers will be great guys thanks!

You should be able to right click on a spare bit of desktop and navigate to video properties; then find the large icons and similar options and set them to your liking.

You need to read the User Manual for the TV and find out what signals its designed to support on its HDMI Input - ideally it will support a signal that is an exact match for the pixel array of the TV - once you know what the TV can handle go to the PC and set it to Output the required format via its HDMI port.

Keep in mind with HDMI you usually have less control over centering/sizing the image compared with VGA.
