Philips 32pw9616 - blinking amber light & blank screens

I have this TV and was fine to start of with but now seems to having real problems.

It is cutting out to a black screen with the red standby light flashing whenever it feels like it. Generally cuts out roughly at 5, 8, 10, 15, 50 (if I am lucky). Wonder what could be wrong with it. I have to leave switched-off for few hours before I can play again but it falls over again :-(.

Anybody, seen this before and if so, what was the solution? Any help, highly appreciated.
