I've tried to connect a DVD player (basic Toshiba at £30 -model SD -280EKB) to our DAEWOO combi (model GB20H4T1 -20') with a scart but there is no picture (although you can hear the sound).

Where have I gone wrong?

Make sure your SCART lead is one that has all the pins connected at both ends.

Some scart cables can also be directional, so need connecting up the right way round.

These are usually the more expensive types though - should say on the cable/plugs if this is the case.

Thanks to both of you. I don't think it is the scart's fault because I have tried the same DVD player with 2 other TVs we've got, one a very basic 15' Mikomi, and it plays fine. There is obviously a problem with this Daewoo, could it be the fact it is a combi?
